North Bullitt and Bullitt Central both recorded 20-win regular seasons with victories on Friday night.
Lady Eagle eighth-grader Katie Downey scored 12 points on Friday as the green gold rolled past former Eighth Region rival Trimble County by a 61-49 count. After the game, the team celebrated at mid-court with the announcement that it was the first 20-win season in the program’s 36-year history.
Bullitt Central senior Kaitlyn McKnight is a big reason that the Lady Cougars are 20-7 entering the post-season. The maroon and gray have won 11 of 12 since Jan. 10.
Bullitt Central has the number one seed for this week’s 23rd District Tournament at Moore High School while North Bullitt has the number two seed. The two rivals could well meet in the championship game at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
