-A A +A

Much like the postal service, the Mount Washington Spring Run delivers rain or shine.

Despite steady and at times heavy rain on Saturday morning, the event conducted by Team Pruitt, went off on schedule.

Still, the rain did keep some runners inside in dry conditions as the 5K event had just 68 runners, much lower than in years past.

In the men’s run, Dean Huff, who lives in Mount Washington, won the race with a time of 20:32, 50 seconds ahead of the runner-up, Dylan Brigmon.

In the women’s race, 11-year old Ryley Ortega dueled with 11-year old Ellie Poole to win by three seconds. Both girls are part of the East Running Club.
