HILLVIEW - As Archbishop Joseph Kurtz told the St. Mary congregation, "It feels good to be 40."
St. Mary Catholic Church marked a milestone by recognizing its 40th year of serving the Hillview area. A full church joined Kurtz at a celebratory mass followed by an indoor/outdoor lunch.
St. Mary is scheduled to merge with St. Jerome Catholic Church in southern Louisville October 19, forming a new church parish, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. With the pending merger, Kurtz focused his sermon toward church unity.
