The Bullitt County Judicial Center was evacuated Wednesday afternoon.

Shepherdsville Fire units were dispatched to the Judicial Center at 2:42 p.m. responding to a smoke alarm.

SFD deputy chief Terry Whittaker said smoke was discovered by firefighters on the third floor.

According to Whittaker, an investigation revealed "an air-handling unit failed losing coolant."

Firefighters pushed smoke out with fans, allowing employees to return inside within 15 minutes.
