CEDAR GROVE - A car accident five years ago led to Steve Bell's first ribbon cutting.

The insurance agent hosted an official grand opening celebration for his new State Farm Insurance location at the Cedar Grove Business Park.

"(The accident) changed my life," said Bell. "I learned the value of insurance. My mission and goal is to make sure everyone is taken care of. I want to keep people out of a bad spot."

The new State Farm location officially opened January 1, with Bell joined by team members Angela Melancon and Mary Smith.

The office features mortgage licensing to help with refinancing and home equity along with mortgage.

Bell is licensed for mutual funds, a specialty he said is not always commonly featured.

A full-service operational bank through State Farm can be accessed at the location.

Bell said business and commercial insurance policies were available, as well as flood insurance through FEMA.

"We're a one-stop shop," he said.

The new State Farm Insurance office is located at 1707 Cedar Grove Rd., Suite 4. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Weekend and evenings are also available by appointment.
