LOUISVILLE ee" Blood donation. It’s the priceless gift of hope. By making an appointment to donate blood through the American Red Cross this holiday season, you not only give someone hope ee" you help save lives too.
The 31st Annual Louisville Donorama Blood Drive is a community event that celebrates hope. Recipients of blood products are not able to take a holiday from needing lifesaving blood. They are in constant need of a healthy supply. This special two-day blood drive will bring together 1,500 blood donors who will give a special lifesaving gift to patients they have never met.

“By donating blood at Donorama, you can help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients as we start a new year,” said Linda Voss, CEO for the River Valley Blood Services Region. “We want to encourage all eligible blood donors in the area to schedule their Donorama appointments now.”
Kentucky Fried Chicken is an official sponsor of the 31st annual Louisville Donorama. All presenting donors at the drive will receive $10 of KFC gift checks.
“It’s the holiday season, so there’s no more appropriate time to celebrate the spirit of giving,” said Andrew Ma, vice president of Consumer Insights for KFC, American Red Cross Volunteer and River Valley Blood Services Region board member. “KFC is proud to support the Louisville Donorama Blood Drive by rewarding the generosity of presenting donors by treating them to a free holiday meal at KFC.”
In addition to the generous donation from Kentucky Fried Chicken, all presenting donors will also be entered into drawings for other prizes. Prizes up for grabs include several $50 gas cards donated by Thornton’s, pizza gift certificates from Tony Boombozz, a gift certificate for a personalized Louisville Slugger baseball bat, bagels for a year from Panera Bread, and some autographed University of Louisville memorabilia! Plus, all presenting donors who are high school students will be eligible to win a Flight Simulator Experience, generously donated by UPS.
The Louisville Donorama will have something for the entire family. Blood product recipients will be on hand to tell their stories and personally thank blood donors. Each presenting donor will also have a chance to write a personal note about their donation, and those messages will be placed on a large display at the drive. Entertainment on both days will be supplied by local bands, courtesy of the Louisville Musicians Union. Hot meals will be featured in the refreshment area, and childcare will be provided throughout the drive.
