The 2011 annual meeting of the Bullitt County Farm Bureau was held Saturday evening, September 17 at the Bullitt County Extension Office on Halls Lane in Shepherdsville.
Bullitt County Farm Bureau President, George Henderman, presided over the meeting. Several guests were recognized and then we had prayer and a wonderful meal.
Entertainment was provided by the Gospel Quartet Rejoice during the meal. During the business portion of the meeting, Gary Moore presented the slate of directors to be elected.
The board members elected for the two-year period are Brian Bleemel, George Henderman, Don Gaus, Gary McGruder, Tom Millay, James Robards, and William Loyall. George Henderman presented the Resolutions that will be sent to the state office. Randy Sullivan gave a report from the insurance
After the business portion of the meeting, we held the Variety and the Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth Contests.
Scott Travis was the emcee for the contest and presented the following entertainers: Hannah Mooney and Lilly Mooney entertained us on the keyboard, Jacob Rosson, Brittany Stewart, and Brady Rosson did vocal performances. Brittany Stewart will be representing the Bullitt County Farm Bureau at the 5th District level of competition on Oct. 15.
The Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth Contest for females and males had the following give speeches: Jonathan Davis and Jacob Whitehall in the male contest and Sara Gorman, Michaela LaCoursiere, Niki Maas, and Harlie Eddington in the female contest.
On Oct. 15 at the Fifth District level, Jacob Whitehall and Niki Maas represented Bullitt County.
The meeting was ended by giving away the door prizes and Rejoice leading everyone in “God Bless America” while Vivian Adams accompanied on the piano.
