Annual Street Rod Nationals invade local community on August 7-9

 LOUISVILLE -- Street rods, muscle cars and classic cars will roll into the Kentucky Exposition Centeron Thursday, Aug. 6, through Sunday, Aug. 9 for the National Street Rod Association’s 46th Annual Street Rod Nationals Plus. 

More than 11,000 vintage vehicles and 30,000 visitors are expected to attend this event which will generate $12.85 million in economic impact.

Many of those attending will be present throughout Bullitt County.

Local hotels and restaurants will be filled with street rod fans.

This four-day automobile event includes a trade show with more than 375 manufacturers and dealers displaying and selling parts, accessories and supplies.

There will also be an arts and crafts fair, a swap meet, seminars, children’s activities and concerts in Freedom Hall.

The Builder’s Showcase will feature cars built by 30 top professional car builders. Renowned car designer, fabricator and painter Chip Foose, one of the most recognized car designers, will be at the US Mags/FOOSE Wheels booth Friday and Saturday.

Entertainment this year will feature concerts in Freedom Hall. 

Country music legend John Anderson will perform his hits from the 1980s and 1990s Friday night at 7 p.m., Caribou will perform Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday Drive Band will perform during the Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. in Freedom Hall.

Concerts are included with event admission.

Gates are open Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. with exhibits opening at 9:00 a.m. each day.

Advance tickets are $13 for adults (age 13 and older) and $6 for youth (age 6-12). Children five and under are free. Tickets are $2 more at the gate. 

Parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center is $8 per vehicle.
