SHEPHERDSVILLE - An United States Army AH-64D Apache helicopter made an appearance at Shepherdsville Elementary Friday morning.
The helicopter, stationed at Ft. Knox, arrived at 9:45 a.m., delighting Shepherdsville students and causing concerned looks by Bullitt Lick Middle School faculty and surrounding neighbors.
Shepherdsville principal David Pate said the helicopter visit was kept low-key due to impending weather problems.
The Apache pilots, CW5 Vince Kubisch and CW4 Randy Flick, visited the school as part of Career Day. Kubisch is married to fourth grade instructor Melissa Kubisch and father of third grade student Austin Kubisch.
The visit also coincides with Shepherdsville Elementary's post-CATS Test celebration.
