HILLVIEW - North Bullitt Christian Church kicked off its 2013-14 AWANA Camp in blue ribbon fashion with a State Fair Night celebration.
AWANA (Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed) is a weekly program created for children. Each event includes fun activities along with verse memorization to learn God's word.
Children participate in overall youth activities and also separate into age groups for more specific lesson plans.
Every Wedneday the AWANA participants celebrate different theme nights such as Super Soaker, Dr, Seuss on the Loose, Charlie Brown Christmas, Star Wars Angry Birds and even a Pooper Scooper Night.
Occasional events also include BARF (Bring a Real Friend) Night, where AWANA members are encouraged to bring new participants.
The programs run on Wednesday nights through May 7, 2014. Supper is provided by the church at 5:50 p.m., $4 for adults and $2 for children.
Supper is followed by AWANA sign-in at 6:15 and the event from 6:30-8. Anyone interested in participating may call 957-5541.
AWANA is hosted by North Bullitt Christian youth director Ray Wiseman.
