LOUISVILLE – On Jan. 14, Bullitt East baseball head coach Jeff Bowles and associate head coach Craig Sharpe were both inducted into the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

The two have worked together for 14 seasons with the Charger program and have accounted for 341 wins against 163 losses.

At one point, the Charger program under Bowles and Sharpe won 11 consecutive district titles. The program has also won three regional titles and twice reached the semi-finals of the Kentucky State Baseball Tournament.

In 2004, the Chargers won the Eighth Region title, but were beaten by North Hardin in what was then a semi-state event in a best two out of three.

Bullitt East then won the Sixth Region title in 2009 and got past the semi-state round, beating Elizabethtown, before losing in the state semi-finals to Owensboro 6-5.

Then last season the Chargers won the Sixth Region title and won two games at the state tournament (there is no longer a semi-state round) before falling to Campbell County 1-0 in eight innings.
