SHEPHERDSVILLE - Do you know of a woman who deserves recognition but would rather stay in the background?

The First Lady of Kentucky, Jane Beshear, and the women who serve in the Kentucky General Assembly would like to recognize your efforts.

State Rep. Linda Belcher said there would be an opportunity in March to honor those women.

Bullitt Countians can nominate a woman who does special work but might not be seen on the front pages of The Pioneer News or on the 11 p.m. news.

Nominations will be accepted by The Pioneer News through March 12. To submit a name, list the person and five reasons why that woman would be placed in the spotlight for her efforts in the community.

A name will be drawn from all the nominations and that person will have a chance to come to Frankfort, be honored by the legislative women and meet Beshear. All the nominees will be listed in The Pioneer News, as well as some of their accomplishments.

The entry deadline is March 12 and nominations should be sent to: The Pioneer News, P.O. Box 98, Shepherdsville, Ky. 40165 or e-mailed to editor@pioneernews.net.
