Bernheim Forest develops programs for kids

-A A +A
By The Staff

CLERMONT - Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest believes that increasing the amount of time children spend out of doors, year round, will help them learn more effectively, increase social skills, benefit from physical activity and generally have more fun!

To that end, Bernheim has created a year-round program especially designed to get your child outside.  ECO Kids (Every Child Outside) initiative is an important component of Bernheim’s mission of Connecting People with Nature, and you will find enlightening and entertaining kid-friendly activities every month. Here’s what’s going on in December:

The first and third Saturdays of every month Bernheim offers a variety of “play and learn” nature experiences for kids and their families with our “Every Child Outside” initiative, designed to foster curiosity and a love of nature in children.  Native wildlife and plant “Discovery Stations” explore the seasons, and there is always a new, fascinating nature experience at each event.   This week’s highlight is “A Snow Day at Bernheim.”  The Frost King and the Snow Queen beckon you to bring a child to Bernheim to celebrate everything snowy.  Inside and outside adventures await!
