Bernheim’s $5 environmental impact fee is waived for all visitors on this day.  Hours are 7am to sunset.  No reservations are needed, but if you have questions, call Susan Ritter at (502) 955-8512 x249.

Full Thunder Moon Night Hike - Tuesday, July 7

All of our full moon hikes are timed to start near sunset, which is also approximately moonrise on a full moon night.  Night hikes cover fairly open territory but not necessarily on established trails.  Please dress according to the weather and don’t forget to call between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. on the day of the program to find out about last minute changes due to the weather.  Cloud cover does not cancel our full moon hikes but severe rain might.

Take advantage of the rare opportunity of visiting Bernheim after dark.  Pre-registration is required, and we recommend that you call 502-955-8512 between 3:30 – 4:30 pm to find out about last minute changes due to the weather.

Help enhance Bernheim’s Big Prairie, Bluegrass Savannah and plant nursery as a native habitats volunteer.  These created habitats showcase many of Bernheim’s rare and unique plants, and they provide the perfect environment

for wildlife.

Bernheim will provide you with valuable information about the work you will be doing and how it can be applied to your own landscape. You will learn about and participate in the care of plants that will be used in upcoming restoration projects as well as existing habitats.

Wear long pants and boots for working in high grasses.
