Bernheim set to honor former county champs

 CLERMONT - Jimmy Carnes will bring back a bit of the past on Thursday night.

As part of Bernheim Middle School’s 20th celebration year, boys’ basketball coach Carnes will honor the first county championship for the school.

After beating Mount Washington in the semifinals, Bernheim defeated Bullitt Lick by eight points to win the championship.

Coach Lewis Clark’s team included Bobby Bracewell, Chris Carnes, Mike Cook, Patrick Elam, Matt Etherton, Scott Etherton, Jamie Kearney, Jon Lee, Billy McCrary, Steve Shifflett and Josh Travis.

All have been invited back for a special ceremony on Dec. 5.

The team will be recognized between the seventh and eighth grade games against Bullitt Lick. The ceremony should take place between 6:30-7 p.m.

Carnes invited the community to come back and honor the county champions.
