BE's Breeden wins KJGF Long Run event

 MOUNT WASHINGTON – A trio of Bullitt East golfers continued their strong play in the off-season competing in the Kentucky Junior Golf Foundation Tour.

     For the second time this season, Ethan Breeden picked up a championship trophy June 12-13 competing in the MDGT/KIA Classic at Long Run Golf Course in eastern Jefferson County.

     Competing in the 15-16 Boys Division, Breeden fired a 146 (72-74) to beat Hayden Zimmerer of Louisville by four strokes. Earlier this season, Breeden had won a match play event on the same tour at Iroquois Golf Course.

     In addition, Bullitt East teammate Zachary Taylor finished 9th overall with a 163 total (83-80) in the same event. Another Charger player, Sam Wilson, finished tied for 19th as he fired a 172 (86-86).

     Taylor Cash, from Shepherdsville, also competed in the event at Long Run and finished 15th with a 168 total (83-85).

     This stop on the tour had 39 players taking part.

     The Bullitt East golf team will start working out on July 15 and the high school golf season will start the first week of August.
