 Become an Organizing Member of a new DAR chapter being organized for Bullitt County.

Billye D. Jackson will be at the Ridgeway Library in Shepherdsville from 9 am to 12 noon, beginning January 5, 2013, to help ladies work on the application process with anyone wanting to become a member. If you meet membership requirements, or have a relative who is a current or former member, or member of the Sons of the American Revolution, you can be eligible. The years of participation for the ancestor are 1774-1783. Substantion of an ancestor will be proof of service in the Military, or Civil, Religious and Patriotic services for the American Colonists.

Please come to the library on Saturdays, until the chapter is organized, or make an appointment with Billye by calling 502-543-8559, or email billyedjackson@windstream. Leave name and number messages for return calls. I will be happy to help you become a member of this great organization.

Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her Patriot ancestor.
