Become an Organizing Member of a new DAR chapter being organized for Bullitt County.
Billye D. Jackson will be at the Ridgeway Library in Shepherdsville from 9 am to 12 noon, beginning January 5, 2013, to help ladies work on the application process with anyone wanting to become a member. If you meet membership requirements, or have a relative who is a current or former member, or member of the Sons of the American Revolution, you can be eligible. The years of participation for the ancestor are 1774-1783. Substantion of an ancestor will be proof of service in the Military, or Civil, Religious and Patriotic services for the American Colonists.

Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America's future through better education consists of nearly 168,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the world. These vibrant, active women are the heart of the organization.
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her Patriot ancestor.
