Bullitt County Derby has lot of unique horses

-A A +A

My Views

By Stephen Thomas

A mix of rain, snow, wind, freezing temperatures and a heat wave, just in the past hour, resulted in undetermined track conditions at Mike Farner Downs for the annual running of the Bullitt County Derby.

Last year jailer Martha Knox led the Bullitt County Detention Center entry, Fort Knox, to the winner's circle. This year the jail presents a half-brother to the reigning champ, Hard Knox, a son of Tough School.

This year's betting favorite is Street Hoops, sponsored by the city of Hillview. Street Hoops is out of Nothing Else To Do and Road Block.
