SHEPHERDSVILLE – The Bullitt County Softball Invitational will make another attempt to conduct a full tournament this coming weekend as both Bullitt East and Bullitt Central will host games.
In the past, the tournament has often been hampered by bad weather as only once in four tries has the event played out to its conclusion.
The tournament this year has slightly fewer teams as only six squads will be taking part. With a format with two, three-team pools, all the games on Friday will be played at Bullitt East while the games on Saturday will be played at Bullitt Central including the championship game set for 6 p.m.
Pool ‘A’ will include Bullitt Central, Ryle and Nelson County. Bullitt East heads up Pool ‘B’ along with Bethlehem and Fairdale.
At this last week, both Bullitt East and Ryle were ranked among the top 25-teams in Kentucky as the Lady Chargers were 12th while Ryle was 18th.
The schedule works out as follows:
Friday at Bullitt East
4:30 p.m. – Bullitt East vs. Fairdale
6 p.m. – Bullitt Central vs. Nelson County
7:30 p.m. – Bullitt East vs. Bethlehem
9 p.m. – Bullitt Central vs. Ryle
Saturday at Bullitt Central
9 a.m. – Bethlehem vs. Fairdale
10:30 a.m. – Ryle vs. Nelson County
Noon and 1:30 p.m. – quarter-final games
3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. – semi-finals
6 p.m. – Championship Game
