BULLITT COUNTY ROADWORK: Week of Apr. 26

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway District 5 reports the following roadwork scheduled in Bullitt County for the week of Apr. 26:

Bullitt County:

Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays are possible in both directions between the KY 61 underpass and the Bullitt/Jefferson County line (mile points 118.5 and 123.1) for roadway striping. Mobile striping operation will be utilized during daytime hours.

Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between mile point 110.7 in Bullitt County and mile point 102.1 in Hardin County for roadway striping. Mobile striping operation will be utilized during daytime hours.

US 31EX: Lane closures and delays possible along entire route (mile point 0 to 2.4) for roadway striping.

KY 1494 (Beech Grove Road): Roadway is closed at the bridge over Long Lick Creek (mile point 5.5) for bridge replacement. Motorists should detour the area via KY 61.

Jefferson County:

Interstate 264/Interstate 64 interchange: Westbound I-64 is reduced to one lane just west of 22nd Street (mile point 2.60) to the Sherman Minton Bridge due to ramp replacement. These lane closures will remain in place until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Entrance ramp from Bank Street to westbound I-264 is at a STOP condition, no longer a merge condition. Intermittent lane closures possible on Northwestern Parkway underneath I-264.

Interstate 64: Construction delays possible between I-265 and the Jefferson/Shelby County line (mile points 18.8 and 23.9) due to roadway widening. The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone and this is a double fine work zone. Construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2010. As part of this project, Clark Station Road is closed at the I-64 overpass. The road is closed until November for removal and replacement of the bridge. Motorists should follow the signed detour via US 60 to Conner Station Road (in Shelby County) to KY 148.

Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays are possible in both directions between the Bullitt/Jefferson County line and mile north of the Outer Loop (mile points 123.1 and 127.5) due to roadway striping. Mobile striping operation will be utilized during daytime hours.

Interstate 264: Shoulder closures possible between US 60 and US 42 (mile points 19.8 and 22.2) due to construction of an interchange at Westport Road. Watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway. The speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone. Lane closures and delays are also possible on Westport Road between Hubbards Lane and I-264 (mile points 0.9 and 1.9). Speed limit on Westport Road has been reduced to 25 MPH in the construction zone. Construction is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2010.

Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays possible due to sweeping of the shoulders.

US 31 (Clark Memorial Bridge): Lane closures and delays possible due to bridge inspection. Lane closures scheduled for Tuesday, April 27th through Friday, April 30th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day.

US 60A (Eastern Parkway): Roadway is closed between Hahn Street and the entrance to the J. B. Speed School of Engineering (mile point 3.8 to 3.7). This closure will allow for extensive repairs to the bridge over the CSX Railroad. Motorists should follow the signed detour via Crittenden Drive, Central Avenue and Third Street (KY 1020).

KY 1703 (Newburg Road): Roadway is reduced to one lane in each direction at Produce Lane (mile point 0.99) due to bridge repairs.

KY 1819 (Ruckreigel Parkway): Lane closures and delays possible between Taylorsville Road and Blankenbaker Parkway (mile points 9.3 and 9.9) due to installation of traffic loops. Lane closures possible weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
