BULLITT COUNTY ROADWORK: Week of July 27

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway District 5 reports the following roadwork scheduled in Bullitt County for the week of July 27:

 

Bullitt County:

KY 1526 (John Harper Highway): Temporarily closed between Hebron Lane and KY 61 to allow for pipe installation. This closure is scheduled from 5 p.m. Sunday, August 2, until 5 a.m. Monday, August 3. Local access will be allowed, but through traffic should follow the signed detour via Hebron Lane.

Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays are possible in both directions between the KY 61 underpass and the Bullitt/Jefferson County line (mile points 118.5 and 123.1) for concrete pavement repairs. The roadway may be reduced to two lanes weeknights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. and weekends from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Additionally, the roadway may be reduced to one lane on weekend nights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone and double-fines will be enforced. Construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2009.

Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between mile point 110.7 in Bullitt County and mile point 102.1 in Hardin County for concrete pavement repairs. The roadway may be reduced to two lanes weekdays from 6-8 a.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. Friday until 10 p.m. Sunday. All other hours the roadway may be reduced to one lane. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone and double-fines will be enforced. Construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2009.

US 31EX: Lane closures and delays possible along the entire route for installation of traffic detection loops and roadway resurfacing. Lane closures are possible daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

KY 61: Construction delays are possible between John Harper Highway and Cardinal Avenue (mile points 19.4 and 20.1) for roadway widening. Motorists should watch for construction vehicles in the area. Blasting operations will begin within the next week. Construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2009.

 

 

Jefferson County:

US 31W (Dixie Highway): Motorists should be aware of impending construction on two bridges on US 31W in Jefferson County near the Jefferson/Hardin County line. Repairs are being made to the substructure of the bridge over the Salt River (mile point 0.04). Bridge deck restoration and waterproofing will be performed on the bridge over the P&L Railroad (mile point 2.1). Construction was scheduled to begin the week of July 20 but has been delayed to mid-August. During this work, US 31W will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The travel lanes will be 11 feet in width. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 MPH in the work zone. The work is scheduled for completion by November 15.

Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays are possible in both directions between mile point 0 and 2 for bridge deck repairs. These lane closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays are possible in both directions between the Bullitt/Jefferson County line and ½ mile north of the Outer Loop (mile points 123.1 and 127.5) for concrete pavement repairs. The roadway may be reduced to two lanes weeknights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. and weekends from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Additionally, the roadway may be reduced to one lane on weekend nights 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone and double-fines will be enforced. Construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2009. 

Interstate 264/Interstate 64 interchange: Shoulder closures and delays possible at the ramp to westbound I-64 approaching the Sherman Minton Bridge (mile point 0.1) for ramp replacement. In addition, shoulder closures and delays are possible on eastbound Interstate 64 at the ramp to eastbound I-264 (mile point 0.19) as part of this construction project. Construction is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2010.

Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays between I-265 and the Jefferson/Shelby County line (mile points 18.8 and 23.9) July 27-31 from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. for roadway widening. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone and double-fines will be enforced. Construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2010. As part of this project, Gilliland Road is closed at the I-64 overpass. The road will be closed for approximately 4 months for removal and replacement of the bridge. Motorists should follow the signed detour via US 60, KY 1531 and KY 148.

Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway): Lane closures and delays possible between US 60 and US 42 (mile points 19.8 and 22.2) for construction of an interchange at Westport Road. The speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone. Lane closures and delays are also possible on Westport Road between Hubbards Lane and I-264 (mile points 0.9 and 1.9). Speed limit on Westport Road has been reduced to 25 MPH in the construction zone.  Construction is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2010.

US 60A: Lane closures and delays possible between Bardstown Road and Lexington Road (mile points 6.8 and 8.0) for roadway resurfacing. Lane closures will occur weeknights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

KY 2053: Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection of KY 61 and Mud Lane for extension of the southbound left turn lane. Lane closures are possible daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

KY 1931 (Greenwood Road): Lane closures and delays possible between Cane Run Road and Dixie Highway (mile points 0 and 3.13) for roadway striping and installation of raised pavement markers. Lane closures are possible daily between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

 

KY 841 (Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possible between US 31W and Interstate 65 (mile points 0 to 10.0) for median cable barrier installation. Lane closures are possible from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.
