CORAL RIDGE - A driver was injured after his car flipped over along Coral Ridge Road Thursday afternoon.

Shepherdsville Police Ofc. Tim Wade said the driver, a white male, was headed northbound when his car left the right side of the roadway about 4:30 p.m.

The driver overcompensated, crossed lanes and went airborne into the ditch in front of the residence at 2611.

Upon impact, the car, a black Toyota Corolla, flipped twice and came to a rest upside-down. The driver was able to crawl from the vehicle.

Wade said the driver was not wearing a safety belt.

Homeowner James Hellman, Jr., heard the accident and called 9-1-1 upon seeing the car.

The driver was transported by Bullitt County EMS to University of Louisville Hospital with minor injuries.

Highway 1020 was closed to traffic for about 30 minutes.

Zoneton Fire units also responded to the scene.
