SHEPHERDSVILLE - Those attending events at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre will continue to see changes to the facility.

The latest improvement has been the painting of the ceiling and ventilation systems on the ceiling of the Salt River room.

Members of the Shepherdsville-Bullitt County Tourist and Convention Commission got a tour of the latest improvements during its June meeting.

Besides the painting, drapes were placed between the ceiling and conference space to help soften the appearance and to improve the balance of the lighting for the large room.

Center director Vicki Downing felt the improvements looked great.

The next major improvement could be the expansion to double the McDowell Hall.

The commission is hoping to obtain some stimulus funding for the construction to double the capacity of the room to over 350.

Before any work is done, the commission approved the improvements on the sound system in the McDowell Room.

The next meeting of the tourist commission will be on Tuesday, July 20, at 4:30 p.m. at the conference centre. The public is invited to attend.
