Ceremony remembers 9-11 heroes

SHEPHERDSVILLE ee" Representatives from various Bullitt County emergency crews joined local officials and citizens in a special 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Bullitt County Courthouse.


The event included a special video presentation reminder of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Representatives of Zoneton Fire Department rang a bell to honor emergency units that lost their lives as a result of the 9/11 tragedy. Many local firefighters from Bullitt County departments were in attendance.

Former POW Joe Milliner, whose son William Patrick Milliner is a current POW, read from a special commemorative plaque. He then presented the plaque for permanent display at the Bullitt County History Museum.

Many members of local VFW and American Legion chapters also participated in the event.

The ceremony included the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem and many prayers. “Taps” was performed on trumpet to close the ceremony.
