While our congressional leaders and our President get a few weeks off to recharge their batteries, we expect they are hearing a few choice words from their constituents.
We’d like to join in on the conversation. The message would be clear to our Kentucky congressional pack - start making cuts.
It was ironic that a few days ago one of the media reports was that federal department heads were being asked to plan for budget cuts in their departments.
Gosh....haven’t businesses been operating under these conditions for several years.
Our challenge is simple - Congress should direct the powers that be to mandate 10 percent cuts across the board.
Just figuring out the cheapest way to purchase things like paper towels and eliminating take-home vehicles should work wonders. And maybe a furlough day here or there might work.
Whatever the madness, mandate those cuts.
