At crunch time, there are plenty of comments and suggestions being offered on the proposed land-use plan for Bullitt County.

This is not unexpected.

The public has until Jan. 31 to submit suggestions to the plans devised by consultant Kriss Lowry. Those must be turned into the Bullitt County Planning office in the courthouse annex.

A public meeting will be held on Feb. 20 for anyone wishing to make comments.

In between, the planning commission will hold weekly meetings at 3 p.m. each Thursday in the courthouse annex. (No meeting will be held on Feb. 13.

The commission members will voluntarily come in and discuss some of the concerns and make suggestions. Anything changed must done by the entire planning commission.

The idea is to get some of the concerns changed quicker. Even after the February meeting, a draft must be prepared by Lowry and then presented for another public hearing.

If you are interested in future land use in Bullitt County, you may want to pop in at the weekly committee meetings, send in written comments or attend the Feb. 20 meeting.
