When we put out the call for people to come out and serve the community, we’re not talking about law enforcement or military personnel.
We’re talking about people who care enough about their communities to run for public office.
With a week left before the initial filing period, few have put their names into the hat.
There are many headaches suffered by anyone who serves in public office. Money is tight and decisions are tough.
Constituents are demanding more every day.
The pay is typically pretty low for the job entailed on a daily basis.
And the stakes are often very high...so high that you might get sued over your actions.
We have always commended those who stick their necks out to serve the public. It is truly a thankless job.
As the filing deadline approaches, search your soul and see if you would like to serve the community.
You would be doing a very noble thing.
We are pleased with the initial reports and hope that Bullitt Countians will do their work at the polls in May and November.
