SHEPHERDSVILLE -- Over the next 15 years, Bullitt County will be able to save $50,000-$70,000 a year on its bond payments for the detention center.
Bullitt Fiscal Court agreed to have the detention center bond issue refinanced, which is projected to save the county over $900,000 through the maturing of the bond in 2028.
Michael George, representing Civic Finance Advisors, which works with the Kentucky Association of Counties, told court members that due to the change in the interest rates, now was the time to refinance.
