SHEPHERDSVILLE -- The Multi-Purpose Bullitt County Seniors Center received a generous donation in honor of one of its former members.
Mount Washington resident Goldie Curtsinger passed away in April 2007. Her daughter, Juanita McCubbins, was the executor of Curtsinger’s estate.
McCubbins presented coordinator Mary Wilson a check for $667.40 toward the center per Curtsinger’s wishes.
A similar check was also presented to Curtsinger’s former church, Calvary Christian Center in Mount Washington. McCubbins said that donation would be used to purchase Gideon Bibles for distribution. Curtsinger’s name will appear in the Bibles.
“This was her wish for me to do this for these two places,” McCubbins said.
Wilson said the center might create a plaque in Curtsinger’s honor. Her donations would be put to use toward the center itself.
“She always called it ‘her’ center,” Wilson said.
