SHEPHERDSVILLE - A 21-year-old Cox’s Creek woman is facing criminal charges in an alleged incident at a Cedar Grove Road day care.

Ashley Miller, 21, has been charged with first-degree criminal abuse.

According to Capt. Ken Bernardi of the Shepherdsville Police Department, his detectives received a call on April 28 to respond to a complaint at the For Kids Only day care in front of the Cedar Grove Business Park.

Bernardi said city officers took the initial information to begin its investigation. The police also have videos from the day care facility.

The victim’s mother reported that she was told that Miller, an employee at the day care, had allegedly covered her daughter’s face with a pillow to make her be quiet.

Bernardi said the child, who was about two years old, was taken to a doctor and then to the hospital but reported no injuries.

In addition to the police investigation, the victim’s family then went to the county attorney’s office, where a criminal complaint was filed and an arrest warrant issued.

Miller, who is no longer employed at the day care, was released from the Bullitt County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

Bernardi said the police have concluded its investigation but the matter is still being investigated by the county attorney’s office and Child Protective Services.
