The Pioneer News reminds everyone to set their clocks ahead an hour this weekend in lieu of Daylight Savings.
The general purpose of Daylight Savings Time is to allow more daylight during spring, summer and fall days after work and school.
Official Daylight Savings occurs at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 10. Clocks will officially jump ahead to 3 a.m. at that time.
Fire officials always encourage homeowners to inspect and change batteries in smoke detectors during Daylight Savings as a safety reminder.
