SHEPHERDSVILLE - Since permits were obtained last summer, mayor Scott Ellis was looking forward to the day when he could show everyone that Wal-Mart was indeed coming to his city.
On Monday, equipment started on site preparation for the 189,000 square foot facility, which should open in March 2015.
The super center is expected to employ 300 full- and part-time employees.
Ellis will be able to watch construction from his office as the store is located across the street on Conestoga Parkway.
