At the May 15th Fiscal Court meeting magistrates Laswell and Bradshaw voted against the appointment of Glen Fleming to the Bullitt County Sanitation District board. When asked to state a reason for their disapproval they said they thought the position should be filled by someone from the north end of the county. But as recently as February 7th they voted for the appointment of D. Hatcher, who is from the south end of the county and who’s position Mr. Fleming would be filling. Since Mr. Hatcher quit during the first meeting.

Magistrates Laswell and Bradshaw also have obstructed the hiring of a maintenance man for the judicial center on at least two occasion, stating that there should be a job description or how detailed it should be.

They have grilled department heads over the hiring of employees to replace employees that have left the county services for other employment. The money has already been budgeted and the need for the positions deemed necessary yet Mr. Laswell and Mr. Bradshaw slow down the process as much as possible. On one occasion they would only give approval to interview potential employees and the department head was to brig the names back to be reviewed by the court.

The micro-managing cost the taxpayers money and adversely affects services.
