Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver perform Friday in Shepherdsville

 Grammy-nominated Bluegrass legend Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver will be live in concert in the metro-Louisville area on Friday, April 29, at 8:00 PM at the Shepherdsville Music Barn.  

With 35 albums to their credit, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver have multiple Grammy, Dove, International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) nominations, and are seven-time winners of IBMA's Vocal Group of the Year.  Fresh with the addition of former country drummer Mike Rogers in September 2010, Doyle Lawson released a fresh new album in late March called "Drive Time" on Crossroads Entertainment's new bluegrass label, Mountain Home. The driving new set includesa hot track of Paul Simon's "Gone at Last" and a fresh cover of the 1990 Dan Seals #1 smash "Love On Arrival."  

Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver were named Traditional "Gospel Group of the Year" at the SPBGMA Awards in Nashville on February 6, 2011, and received a prestigious GMA Dove Nomination this Spring for Bluegrass Gospel Album of the Year for "Light on My Feet and Ready to Fly!"

Legendary in the bluegrass genre and called a "mandolin virtuoso" with "perfectly silken harmony" by The New York Times, Doyle Lawson is also breaking new ground outside the recording studio with a Children's Hospital and Arena Tour this Spring, geared to help meet the emotional needs of hospitalized children and their parents, while inspiring national patriotism and raising awareness of the service and emotional miracles Child Life Departments render daily within children's hospitals nationwide.  Through the tour, Lawson has performed in major arenas in 2011 including Knoxville's Thompson-Boling Arena and Charlotte's Time-Warner Cable Arena, as well as live on ESPN.
