HILLVIEW - A driver was injured in a three-car accident on Preston Highway Monday afternoon.

The incident took place at the Old Preston Highway intersection around 1:30 p.m.

According to Hillview Police Ofc. Roy Raines, the driver of a red Mazda MX5 received a broken leg, along with neck and back pains, after hitting a red Jeep Cherokee crossing the roadway.

The MX5 was traveling northbound on Preston when it struck the Cherokee crossing eastbound on Old Preston, Raines said.

The Cherokee flipped onto its driver's side, making contact with a gray Toyota stopped on westbound Old Preston. The Toyota was knocked about 25 feet away from the stop sign.

The MX5 driver, a female, was transported via Bullitt County EMS to University of Louisville Hospital.

The other drivers received only minor injuries, Raines said.

Hillview Police and Zoneton Fire units responded to the scene along with Bullitt County EMS. Traffic on northbound Preston was down to one lane for about 40 minutes. Old Preston Highway traffic was shut down at the intersection.
