Bullitt County Fiscal Court members made a wise decision recently when they decided to provide funding for a drug-detecting dog.
The county school system will contract with a company to provide several searches per year at the high and middle schools.
Over the years, various law enforcement agencies have had their own K-9 units. Unfortunately, that can be a very expensive endeavor and the animal is usually tied to its companion and can’t be easily retrained to work with another officer, if needed.
