Christmas came early for the Lloyd House and Mount Washington Historical Society.
The Mount Washington Historical Society owns and maintains the Lloyd House Museum, a two story frame home on the National Register located at 200 S. Bardstown Road built in the Late 1800s.
Last Year varmints (raccoons) got in the house and tore up the duct work on the furnace resulting in the pipes and water heater freezing and bursting.
When Mr. Randy Kearney with KLM Mechanical Services Inc. became aware of our plight and not having the funds to repair the heating system he was kind enough to repair the furnace, replacing the destroyed duct work and new thermostat at no charge.
The society meets on the first and third Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the City Annex Building on Branham Way in Mount Washington.
Currently we are recruiting new members and would love to invite you to attend. The dues are $15 a year for family membership. We are striving to continue repairs to the museum including replacing the hot water heater and painting in the spring.
We would like to invite you to our next fund raising Valentine Dinner at the Kettle Creek restaurant 1150 N. Bardstown Road on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Although we would like to welcome you as a new member, if you do not wish to become a member but would like to make a donation to the Mount Washington Historical Society as a friend of the Lloyd House mail your check to Mount Washington Historical Society at PO Box 303 Mount Washington KY, 40047.
We are a non profit corporation thus your donations are tax deductable.
The members would like again to thank Mr. Kerney and his employees for doing a commendable job.
Greg Hilbert, President
