MOUNT WASHINGTON - The Bullitt East Chargers got some bad news last week when it was learned that 6-6 junior Elliot Young will probably miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his back.
The injury came up on the trip to Florida in the opening game and at that point it was thought that the injury was back spasms. Young then sat out the last three games of the Florida trip before returning home and seeing a doctor. It was then that the stress fracture was detected.
Young had started each of the first ten games for the Chargers this season and was the team's third-leading scorer.
Bullitt East head coach Troy Barr said that there was no one point where the injury could have occurred. It is just what sometimes happens through the weight-lifting and contact on a 6-6 growing body.
Barr said that no surgery was planned for Young and that rest would be the order of business at this point.
