Shepherdsville resident Trevor Edwards will be making his professional auto racing debut in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA), presented by Menards on Saturday, September 14 at Salem Speedway.

After competing in eight different series at 50 race tracks in nine states, 20 year old Edwards is taking the next step in his successful racing career.

Trevor will be driving the #29 Correct Temp Dodge in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic presented by Federated Car Care.

Trevor, son of Nascar Truck Series driver Wayne Edwards, started his career racing go-karts at the age of 10.  He never finished outside the top-5 and won 4 out of 10 races in his second year of competing.

After moving through the ranks racing go-karts, Edwards began competing in the adult class of traveling mini-cup series, where he never finished outside of the top-10.

Trevor won Rookie of the Year in 2010, racing in the Rolling Thunder Modified Series. Then he won the championship in that same series in 2011 and 2012.

He was able to test ARCA cars at Daytona, Michigan and Chicago speedways in 2012, earning the approval to race in the upper tier national series.

His family owned race team, Brown Edwards Association Racing, also known as Team BEAR, is working on securing sponsorships to participate in future races. Follow the team on facebook at Team-BEAR.
