Ellis, Portman to face off for mayor’s seat

2014 Bullitt County Primary Election

By Thomas Barr

SHEPHERDSVILLE - It will be the incumbent against a councilmember in the race for mayor of the city of Shepherdsville in the fall.

Current mayor Scott Ellis withstood the challenge of Gaynell Rummage 419-347.

This was probably the spirited of the local races.

Rummage was a supporter of Ellis during his campaign four years ago when he defeated incumbent Sherman Tinnell.

This time, Rummage was on the attack in running for her first political office.
