Escaped state inmate caught in Shepherdsville

SHEPHERDSVILLE - An escapee from a private prison facility was recaptured without incident Thursday in Bullitt County.

According to Capt. Ken Bernardi, public information officer for the Shepherdsville Police Department, officers received a tip on the possible location of Thomas Manning.

Manning escaped from the Marion County Adjustment Center on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Officers went to an address on Boardwalk Avenue in Shepherdsville. They took Manning, of Louisville, into custody.

Bernardi said he was apprehended without incident and taken to the Bullitt County Detention Center. He has since been relocated into the state prison system.
