Kentucky Transportation Cabinet

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announces changes to the traffic signal operation at the interchange of KY 245 and Interstate 65 in Bullitt County.

Later this week, the signal will change from part-time operation to full-time operation.

The traffic signal at KY 245 and the exit ramp from southbound Interstate 65 was installed in 2004 with a part-time operation status.  The signal operated with normal green, yellow and red cycles during the day.  Between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., the signal was set on flash due to lower traffic volumes during the evening hours.

Due to increased traffic volumes in this area, full-time operation of the signal is necessary for safety and improved traffic flow.  The signal will be in operation 24 hours/day.  If there are not any vehicles on the exit ramp from southbound I-65, the signal will remain green for the KY 245 traffic.

Weather permitting; the signal change will take place on Wednesday, September 18.

The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.  Dial 511 or log on to 511.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  Traffic information for the District 5 counties is also available at www.facebook.com/KYTCDistrict5.
