LEBANON JUNCTION - An Indiana man was killed in an accident on Interstate 65 late Friday evening.
Kentucky State Police reported that the accident occurred just before midnight Friday about three miles north of Lebanon Junction.
Charles E. Chesher, 52, of Jeffersonville, Ind., was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the KSP report, Cheser was a passenger in a vehicle headed southbound. The driver, Jeremy C. Chesher of Jeffersonville, dropped off the roadway from the left lane. He lost control and the vehicle flipped in the median.
Charles Chesher was thrown from the vehicle and struck by another vehicle in the northbound lanes.
Jeremy Chesher was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the northbound vehicle was not injured.
Three other passengers in the southbound vehicle received minor injuries. KSP reported that all involved were wearing safety belts except for Charles Chesher.
Bullitt County Sheriffs, Lebanon Junction Police, Shepherdsville Police, Pioneer Village Police, and Lebanon Junction Fire units assisted KSP at the scene, along with Bullitt County EMS and the Bullitt County coroner.
