It’s always a busy time of the year in early June as several of the premiere festival events are held in Bullitt County.
The Hillview City Fair, which is being organized by the Zoneton Masonic Lodge’s Trowel Club, promises to be the biggest in its history.
Headquartered at the city government center, formerly known as St. Mary Catholic Church, the Hillview City Fair will run Thursday through Saturday with entertainment, rides, pageants, food and vendors.
This year’s car show will kick off with a parade from the masonic lodge to the government center at 11 a.m. on Saturday. A nice touch to get the day started.
On Friday and Saturday, St. Aloysius will host its annual picnic. Despite the closing of the school last month, the picnic will continue with all the traditional events of the past, including the Saturday night chicken dinner.
And, on Monday, the Bullitt County Fair will begin its six-day run at the fairgrounds. It will have plenty of the normal fair fare, plus some new events, such as arm wrestling.
The all-for-one price is a great deal, especially in these economic times.
We hope Bullitt Countians will make a little time over the next week and a half to attend some of the events which make this community special.
