Young adults looking to learn more about the police profession have joined the Shepherdsville Police Explorers Post 133, a part of the Boy Scouts of America organization.

The teens 14 and older have worked with the Shepherdsville police on a variety of projects over the past year. From helping with all the local parades to helping to park cars at the Bullitt Blast, the youth have been busy.

Their latest project was to help with a flag dedication at the Shepherdsville City Park on First Street. On a cold, snowy December morning, Royce Cotton, Nick Brewer and Jennifer Waters helped to dedicate the new flag and to raise it up the flagpole for the first time.

Shepherdsville police officer Tim Wade played the National Anthem. Others participating included Sgt. Kenneth Bernardi, the post leader, Jim McClure and Jim McAuliffe.
