HILLVIEW – Councilmembers may opt to make the mayor’s seat a full-time position when the next term begins in January 2015.
But, in reality, all they can do is change the rate of compensation.
Citing the size of the city and the amount of work which must be done, councilmembers talked in March about the need to make the mayor’s position a full-time office.
However, city attorney Mark Edison said that while they may want the next person to work full-time hours, there is no way they can regulate how many hours that person might work.
