HILLVIEW - When hiring police officers, Hillview chief Glenn Caple hasn’t had a full hand of cards to deal with.
When the city decided to pull the hazardous duty retirement for new police officers two years ago, Hillview quickly had a disadvantage in luring law enforcement officials.
Now, as other cities in the area remained committed to offering the hazardous duty retirement coverage, Hillview officials have changed their minds.
Any new hire, as of Dec. 1, 2012, would be eligible for the retirement program.
