HILLVIEW – JoAnn Wick believes that there are plenty of places to use the insurance premium tax which is charged to Hillview residents and businesses.
Since July 2012, Hillview collects 2.5 percent and Bullitt County retains the other 2.5 percent insurance tax which is imposed.
But starting in July 2014, Wick believes the city should retain the entire 5 percent.
Bringing the topic up for discussion at the March meeting of the Hillview City Council, Wick said that it is an issue that needs to be discussed.
