Notes of Interest: The last 17 ARCA Racing Series events at Salem Speedway have produced 15 different winners. The last ARCA driver to post back-to-back wins at Salem is current NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Justin Allgaier. Justin won the 2007 fall race at Salem and backed that up with another win in the spring of 2008…Frank Kimmel, whose last ARCA victory came at Salem in Sept. of 2008, is the all-time ARCA win leader on the high banks with nine victories to his credit. The CJ Solar Band will soon release their new album titled “Cars, Bars and Broken Hearts”…Southern Indiana country/classic rock band, Blue Collar 40, will be entertaining on the Lowe’s Home Improvement stage, located behind the main grandstand, starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday…Kimmel Racing and driver Will Kimmel is hosting a Grand Opening and Fan Appreciation Open House on Friday evening at their race shop in Clarksville. The free event for all ages gets underway at 6 p.m. Live music, featuring country singer and songwriter Hali Hicks and Blue Collar 40, and food by Ann’s By The River…Darrell Basham of nearby Henryville, Ind., who in the last 15 months has had one race shop ruined by fire and another destroyed by a tornado, is scheduled to make his 31st career Salem ARCA start on Sunday. Frank Kimmel tops all current ARCA Racing Series drivers with 36 Salem starts in ARCA competition. In those 36 starts Kimmel has finished in the top 10 an amazing 30 times…The Ford Drive One 50 for the Lucas Oil Great American Stocks will serve as a prelude to the Ford Dealers ARCA 200 on Sunday. Over 45 cars are currently registered to compete with the Salem Speedway division in 2012.
